🃏 Whist (ホイスト)の準備とルール
- 標準的な52枚のデッキを使います。2〜4人で、各プレイヤーに13枚配ります。
- 最後に配られたカード（ディーラーのカード）を表向きにして切り札スートを決め、その後ディーラーの手札に加えます。

- ディーラーの左隣のプレイヤーが任意のカードで最初のトリックをリードします。
- 各プレイヤーは可能ならスートに従い、持っていなければ切り札を含む任意のカードを出します。
- 切り札が出されていれば最も高い切り札が、そうでなければリードされたスートの最も高いカードが勝ちます。
- 各トリックの勝者が次をリードします。
- 13トリックすべてをプレイします。

Setting up the game
- Whist is a four-player partnership game — you and the player opposite form one team against the other two.
- The whole deck is dealt out, thirteen cards to each player, so nothing is left over.
- The dealer's own last card is turned face-up for the table to see, and its suit becomes trump for the hand.
- That card then joins the dealer's hand, which means everyone starts the hand knowing one of the dealer's cards.
Playing a trick
- The player to the dealer's left leads the first trick, and any card may be led.
- You must follow the suit that was led if you hold it. Only when you are void may you play something else, including a trump.
- The highest trump played wins the trick; if no trump appears, the highest card of the led suit wins.
- The winner of each trick leads the next, so winning also hands you control of what suit comes next.
Reading the hand
- There is no bidding in Whist, which makes card-counting the entire skill of the game.
- Track which suits your opponents have shown void, because that tells you when their trumps will appear.
- Leading from your longest suit tends to exhaust opponents' cards in it and turn your low cards into late winners.
- Your partner's choice of lead is the only signal you get, so pay close attention to what they open with.
Scoring
- The first six tricks a partnership takes are called the book and score nothing at all.
- Every trick beyond six scores one point, so a side taking nine tricks scores three.
- This is why a hand can be hard fought and still yield a very small score.
- Play a series of deals to an agreed target, with the trump suit changing each time the deal moves on.
